Don’t pay the Verizon 5G tax for the Google Pixel 4a 5G

Interested in picking up the new Google Pixel 4a 5G ? You’re not alone. With a relatively powerful chipset, incredible camera, and more, the device is shaping up to be one of the best devices available for under $500 this year. Unless you’re a Verizon customer. Unfortunately, the Pixel 4a 5G that Verizon is selling comes in at $600 — a $100 markup. At that point, you’re only $100 from the Pixel 5 , which Verizon doesn’t charge a premium for. Ultimately, buying the Pixel 4a 5G from Verizon just doesn’t make sense at its MSRP, and if you want a new Pixel to use on Verizon’s network , it’s worth either considering the Pixel 5, or buying the Pixel 4a 5G unlocked and saving $100. What’s with the price bump? There’s a reason the Pixel 4a 5G costs $100 extra from Verizon — though it’s not a very good one. It all boils down to the “5G” part of the new Pixel’s name. New 5G networks exist in a few different forms. Some 5G networks use ultra-high-frequency radio waves — … [Read more...] about Don’t pay the Verizon 5G tax for the Google Pixel 4a 5G

Nokia Lumia 928 Review

Nokia Lumia 928 Score Details “The Lumia 928 is one of the best Windows Phones. Though it’s hampered by Microsoft’s smaller app ecosystem, at $100, it’s a great buy if you use Verizon.” Vivid AMOLED screen Great exclusive apps Good battery life Solid rear camera Windows Phone lacks certain apps Windows Phone still has some quirks No microSD card support Battery is not removable MSRP $49.99 It’s difficult to start a Nokia review without noting what an uphill battle the company faces. Once the undisputed king of all things mobile, Nokia has been on a steady fall from grace since the iPhone came out. To stop the bleeding and begin building its place in a post-flipphone world, it boldly aligned itself with Microsoft and its Windows Phone operating system in early 2011. The transition has been … bumpy. The Lumia 928 is Nokia’s 10th phone with Windows. It looks a little different, but shares its guts with Nokia’s flagship Lumia 920. Verizon … [Read more...] about Nokia Lumia 928 Review

Being forced to spend more time indoors means that we’ve all been spending a lot more time online; it’s estimated that internet use has increased by 70% as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. And with adult family members taking video calls as they work from home and kids either in virtual classrooms, playing games online, or streaming videos simultaneously, your internet service has no doubt been pushed to its limits — or past them.
