The Galaxy Buds+ have a very poignant treble response which calls attention to itself. It’s not the kind of sound I’m used to from AKG — a high-end professional audio brand which Samsung nabbed as part of its Harman acquisition in late 2016 — which I’ve always felt always voiced its products with detailed, but generally smooth high-frequency reproduction. The midrange response on the Buds+ is fine, with no mid-bass bloat to create a chesty, droning sound to male vocals add a booming sound to kick drums. The flip side of that is a generally “thin” sound that had me mentally reaching more deeply to hear what I am used to hearing served right in front of me. … [Read more...] about Apple AirPods Pro vs. Samsung Galaxy Buds+

The message has been sent to a wide range of Samsung smartphones, with everything from the Galaxy S8 to the brand-new Galaxy Z Flip confirmed as having received the message. However, it’s unlikely to be anything sinister. The Pixel 3 has an advantage in waterproofing too, thanks to an IP68-rating that’s slightly superior to the Pixel 2’s IP67-rating. The Pixel 3a only has splash- and dust-resistance, so won’t survive submersion. … [Read more...] about Pixel 3a vs. Pixel 3 vs. Pixel 2: Which Google phone is perfect for you?
Display The Pixel 3a has a 5.6-inch screen with a 2,220 x 1,080-pixel resolution. The Nokia 7.1 has an LCD screen with a resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 pixels. The Moto G7 has the biggest screen at 6.2 inches, also an LCD panel, and it has a resolution of 2,270 x 1,080 pixels. There’s very little difference here in terms of sharpness, but because the Pixel 3a has an OLED screen it has much deeper blacks than the other two. The Nokia 7.1 is the only one to boast HDR10 support, which will impress with the right content from Netflix or Amazon, but OLED is simply superior to LCD so the Pixel 3a screen is the best option here. … [Read more...] about Google Pixel 3a vs Nokia 7.1 vs Moto G7: Budget phones get better and better
