The game patched a few things, but also added in some new quests and a way to pick up one of these awesome ships. Living ships are a new class of rare, sentient starships. As previously mentioned, they have their own unique organic technologies. It’s also important to remember that each living ship is different. That means that the missions, items that you search for, planets and coordinates to find, etc., may be different than those of someone playing the same mission. Although most of the missions are the same, you may find some variations from person to person. … [Read more...] about How to hatch a living ship in No Man’s Sky

The best video game sequels
Street Fighter 2 The first couple games on this list at least knew what they wanted to be when they began, but the first Street Fighter game only vaguely feels like a proper fighting game. That’s what makes the jump to Street Fighter 2, a game that received over five iterations, so impressive. The first game did have some basic moves, like the famous Dragon Punch and Hurricane Kick, but they were far too difficult to pull off, partially due to the control setup. Rather than having different buttons for each level of attack (light, medium, and hard), the player would actually have to press the arcade pad harder to do stronger attacks. The game also only had two playable characters, Ryu and Ken, who were functionally identical. The sequel fixed every problem this game had, plus invented staples of the fighting game genre that are still followed to this day. The roster of characters was upped to six, all of whom have become iconic to the series and all with their own … [Read more...] about The best video game sequels

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) What’s better than a new Western from the Coen brothers? How about six? The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is a sextet of short films, all set in the Wild West. They follow different characters through wild plots that explore the themes of human depravity and cosmic justice (or injustice) that recur so often in the Coens’ works. The stories and protagonists vary wildly. The eponymous sequence follows Buster Scruggs (Tim Blake Nelson), a sharpshooting, guitar-slinging cowboy roaming the West and singing of his adventures. In another, a lonely prospector (Tom Waits) digs for his fortune. The stories in The Ballad of Buster Scruggs fall on the surreal end of the Coen spectrum — they’re somewhat comical, occasionally brutal folk tales that don’t always leave the viewer feeling they’ve learned a lesson. Superbad (2007) Based on Seth Rogen’s and Evan Goldberg’s real high school co-dependency, Superbad is a coming-of-age high school movie that actually feels accurate to high school life. That’s why it became something of a must-see classic for the millennial generation. Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) know they’re heading separate ways after graduation, so they’re finally looking to party with their classmates just once. When their friend Fogle (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) says he’s about to score a fake ID, Seth volunteers the trio as the beer providers in order to score admission to a party and gain the affection of a girl (Emma Stone). But when Fogle’s ID turns out to be the worst fake ID of all-time and two bored police officers make it their mission to mess with the boys, things get complicated in a hurry. … [Read more...] about The 47 best movies on Hulu right now

The Last Campfire is not nearly as ambitious as NMS, but that isn’t what it is trying to be. In fact, it is almost the polar opposite. Rather than an essentially endless experience focused on exploration and creating your own stories, The Last Campfire is a story- and character-driven puzzle game that has a specific theme it wants to convey to the player. You will take control of a lost ember traveling through a mysterious world full of other lost souls while on your way to light the last campfire. Getting into the details of what makes this game so impactful would only spoil it, but if you want a personal and uplifting game, … [Read more...] about Best hidden gems on Xbox One
