Sonos Roam to get new colors this week | Digital Trends

May 9, 2022 by www.digitaltrends.com

Sonos has a lot on its plate, it seems. There’s a new soundbar on the way — the as-yet-announced Sonos Ray — and seemingly its own voice control platform coming down the pike. And according to a promo email that went out today, Sonos Roam is about to get some new colors. “Something colorful is coming,” the subject line reads. The email body points to “early access to brand new exclusives beginning Wednesday.” While there’s nothing explicit about Sonos Roam in the email, the included image is named Roam_Colors_Launch.png. So there’s that. Later in the day, after we initially published this post, a Spanish-language marketing image appeared on Reddit from /u/All-Your-Base. Based on that, the new colors appear to be “Sunset,” “Wave,” and “Olive.” Roam, of course, is the $180 portable speaker that is positioned for use inside or outside — wherever you may roam, if you will. It’s currently only available in Shadow Black or Lunar White. So additional colors make sense, especially if … [Read more...] about Sonos Roam to get new colors this week | Digital Trends

Vloggers, Nikon has built a new camera just for you | Digital Trends

June 30, 2022 by www.digitaltrends.com

As Nikon’s two ads (below) for its just-released Z 30 camera make abundantly clear, the company is aiming its newest device squarely at vloggers. Sporting the smallest and lightest design among Nikon’s Z-series lineup, the new Z 30 camera offers lots of vlogger-friendly features, among them a flip-out touchscreen display, 4K UHD video, eye and face tracking, a built-in stereo mic, an external mic input, and up to 125 minutes of continuous video recording time. The device works with a range of different lenses and will also function comfortably as a webcam for livestreaming using Nikon’s free Webcam Utility software. The new Z 30 camera also includes a 20-megapixel APS-C size/DX-format cropped image sensor and, if you want to use it as a regular snapper, can deliver 330 shots per charge via its EN-EL25 battery. “A real camera with interchangeable lenses is a big leap in a creator’s personal evolution,” Nikon executive Jay Vannatter said in a release announcing the new … [Read more...] about Vloggers, Nikon has built a new camera just for you | Digital Trends

LG Star Wars-edition C2 TV goes on sale June 21 for $3,000 | Digital Trends

June 20, 2022 by www.digitaltrends.com

In late May, LG announced that it would release an ultra-limited Star Wars edition of its impressive 65-inch C2 OLED TV . At the time, all we knew were a few design elements and that only 501 units were being sold (a nod to Darth Vader’s leadership of the Empire’s 501st clone army division). Today, LG is announcing that the C2 OLED evo 65-inch Star Wars edition will be available exclusively on LG’s site for a Force-defying price of $3,000. While our review of the C2 puts it near the top of our list for OLED TVs, the Star Wars edition will run you nearly a full $500 more than the standard 65-inch C2, so you’ll have to be a pretty die-hard Star Wars fan to justify the upcharge. You’ll be getting some flashy design touches, of course, including an imperial logo on the back of the TV, stealthy, glossy touches around the bezels that recall Darth Vader’s helmet, a Star Wars-branded remote, and some software features like Empire-skinned navigation screens and the sound of Vader’s … [Read more...] about LG Star Wars-edition C2 TV goes on sale June 21 for $3,000 | Digital Trends

Bowers & Wilkins Px8 price revealed — but that’s it so far | Digital Trends

June 29, 2022 by www.digitaltrends.com

Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) just updated its flagship noise-canceling headphones — be sure to read our Px7 S2 review . But even before the first reviews could be published, the British audio brand hit us with a bombshell: The Px7 S2 will have a very short reign as the company’s best cans. Later this year, we will be introduced to the Bowers & Wilkins Px8, a set of wireless headphones that B&W has already indicated will be its new flagship product. But that’s about all the company would say, at least for now. Well, that, and the price. The Px8 will sell for $549 — an increase of more than one-third over the price of the Px7 S2. And that puts the Px8 in a very small category of wireless headphones that cost more than $500. In fact, we can only think of three models in that bracket (that don’t lean on exotic materials like gold and diamonds for their price): Apple’s $549 AirPods Max , Beyerdynamic’s $600 Amiron , and the just-released $599 Master & Dynamic … [Read more...] about Bowers & Wilkins Px8 price revealed — but that’s it so far | Digital Trends

Sonos’ Sub Mini goes from rumor to the FCC | Digital Trends

June 2, 2022 by www.digitaltrends.com

With the recent launch of the Sonos Ray , a small and (by Sonos standards) affordable soundbar, questions about the company’s plans for a smaller, more affordable subwoofer kicked into high gear. We now have the first tangible evidence that such a speaker — likely called the Sonos Sub Mini — is on the way: The product was spotted by Protocol ’s Janko Roettgers , in a recent Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing , which is usually a strong sign that an announcement is imminent. The documents are light on details — there’s no mention of the new product by name and no product photography — but they do shed some light on a few aspects. According to a diagram indicating the required FCC ID label placement, the speaker — which goes by the Sonos model designation, S37 — is cylindrical. We can see the bottom of the unit, which appears to be a perfect circle, along with what looks like four “legs” or supports. This is consistent with a previous report from The Verge ‘s … [Read more...] about Sonos’ Sub Mini goes from rumor to the FCC | Digital Trends
