For life as we know it to flourish, there are two essential ingredients: Organic compounds called hydrocarbons, and liquid water. Saturn’s moon Titan is known to be rich in hydrocarbons and does have water on its surface, but it is so far from the sun and so cold that the liquid water thought to be there is covered with an icy crust. Now, though, new research profiled in Science Magazine suggests that there is a way that these hydrocarbons and this liquid water could mix, creating the perfect petri dish for life to potentially emerge. Two of the biggest sales events of the year are Amazon’s Prime Day and Black Friday, but how do you know which is the best one to shop? And are there key differences between the two events? Read on as we weigh up Prime Day versus Black Friday and explain everything you need to know about the two sales events. What is Prime Day? Prime Day is Amazon’s annual sales event to mark its birthday. The price of Bitcoin has surged in recent days, sending the cryptocurrency value soaring. With a high value of $53,750 per coin as traded on the Luxembourg-based Bitstamp exchange, the combined value of all existing coins is now $1 trillion dollars. This means that Bitcoin’s market capitalization rivals some of the top and most well-known technology companies, including Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. At $1 trillion, Bitcoin’s market value when counting all the coins in circulation, is double what the currency’s value was at the start of 2021. At the beginning of the year, Bitcoin was at $500 million. So in a little more than two months time, Bitcoin’s combined earn market value is nearly the … [Read more...] about Passing the $1 trillion mark, Bitcoin is almost as big as Google

The internet’s largest gatekeepers have had it with cookies, and they’re waging a war to wipe them off the face of the web. No company is more at the forefront of this uprising than Google, which wants to replace cookies with an alternative that “hides you in the crowd” to offer a more private online experience. So what’s wrong with cookies? Cookies have been one of the web’s key cogwheels since the mid-1990s. But what started as an innocuous and convenient solution for e-commerce websites to remember what you had in your cart has over the years evolved into an easily accessible and vastly abused channel into users’ browsing activity for advertisers. The concept of cookies has remained untouched forever. They’re little pieces of data that websites store in your browser to recognize you the next time you visit them. The catch is that the information they hold is not well-protected and malicious trackers are able to piggyback on them to learn about you and build a dossier on … [Read more...] about Google has an ingenious plan to kill cookies — but there’s one big drawback
