If you want to survive until the very end in Fortnite , you’ll have to be aware of your surroundings, know your weapons inside and out, and make liberal use of the game’s building mechanics (if you’re playing a mode that supports building). In 2022, Epic Games created new “Zero Build” playlists for Solos, Duos, Trios, and Squads, allowing players to focus more on their aim rather than on building a fortress around themselves for protection. Still, building is a key part of Fortnite for many players. The ability to quickly cobble together walls, floors, rooftops, stairs, and traps differentiates Fortnite from competitors such as Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone . Taking advantage of these features sets the great Fortnite players apart from those who go down before the first circle even begins to shrink. The Nomad is a Portable Security Solution You Can Take Anywhere | Digital Trends
Previous Next 1 of 8 Nomad is a new device that is looking to change that, by offering a full-featured personal security solution that travels wherever you do. Assuming a successful crowdfunding campaign , it should begin shipping in November 2018. The cylindrical device measures up to 8.5 inches and weighs half a pound, so it’s certainly not as small as some of the in-home smart cameras we’ve seen (here are our favorites ). However, it has a few tricks up its sleeve that should appeal to security-conscious users on the move. The main unit houses both an HD camera and motion detector and stands 5.5 inches tall, but additional sensor modules, called “PoDs,” expand its capabilities (and add to the size). Three different PoDs are available, offering enhanced motion detection, light detection, or even vibration detection. These PoDs can be screwed onto the Nomad for travel, then detached and positioned around a hotel room, office … [Read more...] about The Nomad is a Portable Security Solution You Can Take Anywhere | Digital Trends

How Do 3D Printers Work? Here’s the Lowdown On Additive Manufacturing | Digital Trends
3D printing is everywhere these days. People use it to make everything from product prototypes to jet engines, and everything in between — but how do 3D printers work, exactly? How do these magical machines make three-dimensional objects — of virtually any shape — in a matter of hours? Well, if you’ve ever been curious about these things, you’re in luck. Here’s a dead-simple rundown of the four most common 3D-printing technologies in use today. FDM Filament deposition modeling, also known as fused filament fabrication, is the most common type of 3D printing — at least on the consumer side of things. If you’ve seen a 3D printer in person before, chances are pretty good that it was an FDM printer. Functionally speaking, your average FDM machine works a lot like a hot glue gun that’s being operated by a robot (interestingly enough, that’s actually how FDM was invented back in the 1980s!). Solid material goes in one end, gets pushed through a hot nozzle, melts, and is … [Read more...] about How Do 3D Printers Work? Here’s the Lowdown On Additive Manufacturing | Digital Trends
