It is indeed a Merry Christmas at Apple. Just last week it was reported that Apple is leading the global wearable market by IDC’s latest quarterly report, and now a new report from Counterpoint Research has said that Cupertino-based tech giant is dominating the global handset market by capturing 66% of industry profits and 32% of the overall handset revenue. As per the report, “The loyal premium user base in the major markets like the USA, EU and Japan is one of the reasons that Apple can still operate at a profit level that its competitors can only wish for.” Other brands’ profitability is no where near Apple’s as per the data shared by Counterpoint Research. On the basis of the data of the period Q1 2018-Q3 2019, the report predicts that the company’s profitability will only rise. “Now with a strong service strategy, Apple’s overall ecosystem is strong enough to guarantee it a steady inflow of revenue in the coming years.
