High-price of phones causing Apple and Samsung to lose out to Huawei

The high price of smartphones from Samsung and Apple is causing the tech giants to lose their share of the market to Huawei.  New data released by research business Gartner has found that both Samsung and Apple have lost market share around the world, with Apple’s share dropping 2.1pc  in 2018 to 15.8pc and Samsung seeing a 0.9pc decrease to 17.3pc. Analysts believe that the high prices of flagship smartphones released by the two businesses, which are the biggest in terms of market share, has seen customers switch to cheaper competitors.
